Client Creative Director (Beatriz) by end of call slaughtered the work done.
Loves idea, but has her own vision of this, way beyond the notes given earlier.
She will be sending in her notes, the notes in red are her thoughts in the call. Many, many changes.
Unlike the past work they have done with architect and robot in forest spot, now all of sudden they dont like wide shots, they want a simple graphic style.
Creative head Beatriz when asked about the request to red do VO, to have VO start at beginning was unaware of this change. She and the CMO are completely out of sync with each other, this is dangerous. This must be fixed now. They are not communicating with each other.
I have spent 1 day on pitch, 3.5 days on Directors treatment, plus more then a day starting to work on a new VO requested by client and organizing images for animation. With the massive amount of notes you will see below, I am basically redoing the entire storyboard and estimate another two days to complete this task. But that is not the worst part, Beatriz is still not sure on creative changes. She said to me at end of call, “Maybe I get your information, and we can brainstorm ideas for awhile”. I am concerned her notes and changes do not take into account the massive impact of changing scenes at this late point. This concept takes much thinking and endless hours to create these match cuts and transitions, and she now wants transitions for every scene! And there are many scenes. New changes will likely put us 1 week behind schedule. Beatriz thought the deadline needed to be met, I feel you need to discuss this with client now. I can’t provide a V1 cut Monday if there is about two plus days of redoing storyboard. We also need to discuss my storyboard rate. I am at 1K for storyboards, with having spent over three days on it, we need to discuss the added days client is adding. 5 days to storyboard at 1K put me at a McDonalds 20 an hour rate LOL :-)
She may of changed her mind on her notes, but here in red is her input.
Potential revised schedule at bottom that reflects the lost 5 days.
Example of what she does not want. Too many wide shots. Take this scene out.
